"Forty Days of Purpose"

You are not an accident!
You were created by God for five purposes,
and until you understand them,
life will not make sense!

On Saturday evening, October 8th, 2005, Harlingen Church held a Kick-Off Event that began a six-week campaign, "Forty Days of Purpose,". that profoundly affected many people's lives.

Those who participated in this campaign were encouraged to attend Harlingen Church on Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m., from October 9th thru November 20th.

They were also encouraged to join a Small Group that will met once a week during the campaign. Small Group members will received a free copy of Rick Warren's best-selling book, "The Purpose Driven Life." They read one short chapter per day.

During this campaign many people discovered, perhaps for the first time, that God has a plan for their lives. This plan includes five purposes:
  • First, you were planned for God's pleasure-that's worship!
  • Second, you were formed for God's family-that fellowship
  • Third, you were created to become like Christ-that's discipleship!
  • Fourth, you were shaped for serving God-that's ministry!
  • And fifth, you were made for a mission-that's evangelism!
Harlingen Church continues to be a "Purpose Driven Life" congregation. If you would like to discover the true meaning of life, you're encouraged to worship at Harlingen Church.
