General Sunday School Information

  • The Sunday School year begins in September, on the first Sunday after Labor Day. It ends on the second Sunday in June.
  • The LIFE Curriculum, "Living In Faith Everyday", is used in the Sunday School, for children aged 3 years - 6th grade.
  • The children learn that they should live out their faith everyday, not just on Sundays!
  • This curriculum is Biblical based.
  • By the time children finish sixth grade, they will have studied the key Biblical stories and themes from Genesis to Revelation.
  • LIFE is student-oriented. It gets the children involved in their lessons.
  • LIFE follows a two-year cycle.
  • On Sunday, the children attend Morning Worship with their parents until they are called forward for a Children's Sermon early in the Worship. After this sermon, they are dismissed to their classes.
  • In addition to classroom studies, the Sunday School offers many other activities throughout the year. For example:
- a year-long Mission project;
- several family activities, such as hiking, game nights, and picnics.
  • There are four holiday weekends: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's, and Easter. On these Sundays, there are no regular Sunday School classes. However, there is usually a special program for children aged 3 years through first graders.
