Summer 2010 Mission Trip

We are barely back from our trip to Oakland, MD., and we already have to start thinking about next summer.  Where does the time go?  Before we know it, we will be packing our tools.

Next summer’s mission trip will be to Mifflinburg, PA, July 11-17.  Mifflinburg is a small town located in the triangle formed by Harrisburg, State College and Williamsport. “Mifflinburg is still called ‘Buggy Town"’- because of the many buggy factories that once operated there.  Nowadays you'll still see horse-drawn buggies on the area roads because they are in the center of Amish country.  Here you'll also find many elderly people on fixed incomes.  These folks want to stay in their homes.  In fact, many were actually born and raised in these homes.  But after paying for utilities, food and medicine, precious little is left for the upkeep and maintenance of their aging houses.  This is where you come in!  Reach out to these people and show them the power of God's love. “

This trip is for high school students and older. (You must be going into high school in the fall of 2010).  We will need several adults with minivans or other vehicles that have 6 or more seat belts, to accompany our youth.

If you are interested in going on this trip or if you would like more information, do not hesitate to call me at 609-466-1882 or email me at weezie711@gmail.com.  Trip cost is $419, and I will need a $50 non-refundable deposit when you sign up.  The balance will be due in 2 payments, March 1 and May 1. Participants are expected to attend 4 pre-trip meetings and help with fundraisers, such as the rummage sales and ShopRite soliciting.

Thanks!
Weezie Huntington.
